SUMMARY:Lighting Days 2023
DESCRIPTION:When & Where \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresented by: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe purpose of this event is to present a broader perspective of sustainability lighting which includes aspects from regulations\, components and recycling to perceived light quality and wellbeing. \n\n\n\nOur expectation is to attract participants from a wide range of professions and stakeholders engaged in light including; lighting designers\, light researchers\, architects\, representatives from industry and real estate\, installers\, local authorities and property managers. \n\n\n\nHigher demands on not only energy efficiency but also resource efficiency\, or even resource sufficiency\, calls for continuous development at all levels\, from the light source at the luminaire level to the final lighting system level. \n\n\n\nThis means everyone from manufacturers\, lighting consultants\, lighting designers\, to procurers and even normal consumers must continue to learn to master the new possibilities to fulfill the potential of good lighting for everyone while using a minimum of resources. \n\n\n\nWelcome to two and a half invigorating days of presentations\, discussions\, workshops\, networking\, light- and wine tasting and a light and sound art evening event. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPart 1 – Welcome Lunch and Presentations\n\n\n\nWednesday 6th December 12:00-16:30 \n\n\n\nLunch at Konstfack Restaurant \n\n\n\nWelcome \n\n\n\nPresentations \n\n\n\n\nNews on Ecodesign – Peter Bennich\, Senior Advisor\, Swedish Energy Agency\n\n\n\nResource Efficiency – Carl Dalhammar\, Professor\, IIIEE\n\n\n\nSustainable Lighting – Isabel Villar\, Lighting Designer & Maha Shalaby\, Architect and Environmental Designer\, White Arkitekter\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPart 2 – Circadian Waves: Resonances\n\n\n\nWednesday 6th December 18:00-20:00 \n\n\n\nScenkonstmuseet \n\n\n\nCircadian Waves: Resonances is a light and sound installation at Scenkonstmuseet (Swedish Museum of Performing Arts) which is inspired by Nobel Prize Winners and part of the Nobel Week Lights festival which is also taking place across Stockholm this week. \n\n\n\nThe installation is a collaboration between Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)\, University of Arts\, Crafts and Design (Konstfack)\, Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) and Royal College of Music (KMH). \n\n\n\n“Through a light and sound installation\, visitors can experience the shifts between light and darkness\, sound and silence in the middle of an urban environment\, resonating with our internal\, lost rhythms. \n\n\n\nThe Nobel Prize winners who inspired us for the installation were Jeffrey C. Hall\, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young\, for their discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the circadian rhythm. They received their prize in 2017.” \n\n\n\nPresentations \n\n\n\n\nClara Fraenkel\, Lighting Designer\n\n\n\nJohan Eklöf\, Bat Researcher and Author\n\n\n\n\nThis session is limited to 30 participants. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPart 3 – Presentations and Workshops\n\n\n\nThursday 7th December 09:30-17:00 \n\n\n\nWelcome and Coffee \n\n\n\nPresentations \n\n\n\n\nConnectivity Break – Andréas Hall\, Development Engineer\, City of Helsingborg\n\n\n\nThe Measurable and the Immeasurable Qualities of Light  – Johanna Enger\, Senior Lecturer in Lighting Design\, Konstfack\n\n\n\n\nIntroduction to the Afternoon Workshops \n\n\n\n\nJohanna Enger – Konstfack\n\n\n\nCarolina Hiller – Researcher\, Research Institute of Sweden (RISE)\n\n\n\nKarin Wendin – Professor Food and Meal Science – Kristianstad University (HKR)\n\n\n\nKajsa Pollack – Usability Researcher\, RISE\n\n\n\n\nLunch at Konstfack Restaurant \n\n\n\n\nWorkshop 1 – A Digital Tool for Perceived Light Quality\n\n\n\nWorkshop 2 – Characteristics of Light for Workplace Lighting \n\n\n\nWorkshop 3 – Light Quality in Spatial Environments\n\n\n\n\nCoffee Break \n\n\n\n\nWorkshop 1 – A Digital Tool for Perceived Light Quality\n\n\n\nWorkshop 2 – Characteristics of Light for Workplace Lighting \n\n\n\nWorkshop 3 – Light Quality in Spatial Environments\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPart 4 – Wine and Light Tasting\n\n\n\nThursday 6th December 17:00-19:30 \n\n\n\nWine and Light Tasting – Henrik Scander\, Senior Lecturer\, School of Hospitality\, Culinary Arts and Meal Science\, Örebro University \n\n\n\nIn this evening session we will experience a fascinating and relaxed wine tasting and networking session in the company of Henrik Scander\, lecturer and PhD in Culinary Arts and Meal Science\, in the field of food and drink combinations. \n\n\n\nHenrik will help us to explore how different light conditions can affect how we experience taste. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPart 5 – Presentations and Workshops\n\n\n\nFriday 8th December 09:30-17:30 \n\n\n\nWelcome and Coffee \n\n\n\nPresentation \n\n\n\n\nFlicker and Temporal Light Artefacts\, Johannes Lindén\, Light Researcher\, Lund University\n\n\n\n\nCoffee Break \n\n\n\nPresentation \n\n\n\n\nMulti Level Competence\, Jonas Kjellander\, Architect and Lighting Designer\, Sweco & Peter Götlind\, Facilities Manager\, Uppsala University\n\n\n\n\nLunch at Konstfack Restaurant \n\n\n\nPresentations \n\n\n\n\nLight and Social Sustainability\, Bodil Karlsson\, Researcher\, RISE\n\n\n\nLow Cost Lighting Competition for Emerging Economies\, Toby Cumberbatch\, Professor\, SociaLite Lighting Systems Inc. \n\n\n\n\nCoffee Break \n\n\n\nPanel Discussion: Moderator – Mikael Castanius\, CEO Belysningsbranchen \n\n\n\nPanelists: Bodil Karlsson\, Jonas Kjellander\, Peter Bennich\, Johanna Enger\, Isabel Villar\, Maha Shalaby. \n\n\n\nClosing Remarks: Johanna Enger\, Johannes Lindén and Peter Bennich

SUMMARY:LCN Research Get Together
DESCRIPTION:One of the outcomes from the symposium arranged by LCN in June this year was that there is a wish for more communication across the disciplines and fields within light and lighting. \n\n\n\nWith this Research meeting\, LCN would like to encourage communication between light researchers from different fields and to inspire collaboration.  \n\n\n\nThe meeting will include a workshop section on the topic of Gap Analysis within current light research.  \n\n\n\nJoin us and tell us the opportunities and challenges that you face\, whether you are in academia or work with implementing research outcomes. You can help shape the development of new research priorities and the focus of future LCN events. \n\n\n\nLanguage: English
