SUMMARY:Driving Forces and Obstacles Relating to Circular Lighting
DESCRIPTION:Is it possible to reduce resource consumption\, climate impact and energy needs through other ways of procuring lighting? Is buying solutions outright becoming more expensive and cumbersome for the customer? \n\n\n\nIn the project “Obstacles and Driving Forces Relating to Circular Lighting” RISE (Research Institute of Sweden) \, together with project partners Brighteco\, Chalmers industrial technology\, Castellum and Tierpsbyggen\, have investigated what motivates and hinders large customer organisations to buy light as a service instead of owning and managing luminaires themselves. \n\n\n\nThe project aims to improve the understanding between suppliers and customers of how the need for light can be met\, and what risks\, opportunities and conditions differentiate the acquisition of lighting in legacy and circular business systems. \n\n\n\nIn this digital seminar\, the project will present what light as a service is\, what effects it may have on sustainability and what obstacles and driving forces have been identified aroundthe possibility of introducing such circular models to owning and managing your own lighting. \n\n\n\nPlease follow the link below to register your interest by 02 June. A link to the seminar will be sent closer to the date. \n\n\n\nPlease note that the seminar will be conducted in Swedish. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister your interest

SUMMARY:The Time of Our Lives
DESCRIPTION:Organisers\n\n\n\nLisa M. Wu\, Ph.D. (Associate Professor\, AIAS) and Ali Amidi\, Ph.D. (Associate Professor\, Psychology and Behavioural Sciences) from the Sleep & Circadian Psychology Research Group. \n\n\n\nAim\n\n\n\nCircadian rhythms are cycles of rhythmicity in our behaviour\, physiology and biochemistry\, that occur approximately every 24 hours. They form an adaptive mechanism for organisms to coordinate vital functions from cellular processes to physiological functions to our very behaviours. \n\n\n\nThe nature and timing of our circadian rhythms can therefore play an important role in every aspect of our functioning. Circadian rhythms are tightly connected with sleep\, a behaviour in which we spend a third of our lives. Light happens to be the strongest entrainer of our circadian rhythms\, and therefore exerts a powerful influence over our circadian rhythms. \n\n\n\nThe aim of this symposium is to activate and foster networks and interdisciplinary collaborations focused on the topic of sleep and the circadian timing system\, how they interact with human psychology\, health\, and behaviour\, and circadian-driven interventions including light therapy. \n\n\n\nThis symposium is set against the backdrop of a new AU-wide research group called the Circadian Psychology and Sleep Research Group. \n\n\n\nAudience\n\n\n\nInterested researchers\, students\, and professional at all levels and across disciplines in Denmark and neighbouring countries. \n\n\n\nType of Event\n\n\n\nThis will be a small-medium-scale informal symposium consisting of invited speakers and 2 keynote speakers aimed at providing a networking opportunity for attendees and to also highlight current research and research labs in the field of circadian rhythms\, sleep and light. Attendees will have the opportunity to present abstract posters. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister your interest

SUMMARY:Lunch get together with LCN during LightingWeek 2021
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nCome together to chat about light and lighting\, latest research\, or just talk with like-minded professionals. LCN is hosting lunch events this autumn on Zoom and we look forward to welcoming you\, though do ask that you please register using the link below. \n\n\n\nEvery year the Swedish Energy Agency arranges a week of lighting seminars and LightingWeek has become very popular amongst participants. This year it takes place between 6-10 December and we look forward to being a part of it by offering people the chance to meet up informally at lunchtime on the Thursday. \n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome to attend\, but please note that the main language of the lunch meetings will be English. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister via Zoom \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSee the full LightingWeek programme here.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganiser:

SUMMARY:LCN Research Get Together
DESCRIPTION:One of the outcomes from the symposium arranged by LCN in June this year was that there is a wish for more communication across the disciplines and fields within light and lighting. \n\n\n\nWith this Research meeting\, LCN would like to encourage communication between light researchers from different fields and to inspire collaboration.  \n\n\n\nThe meeting will include a workshop section on the topic of Gap Analysis within current light research.  \n\n\n\nJoin us and tell us the opportunities and challenges that you face\, whether you are in academia or work with implementing research outcomes. You can help shape the development of new research priorities and the focus of future LCN events. \n\n\n\nLanguage: English
