This five day course will take place from Monday, 14 September to Friday, 18 September 2026 at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany.
The course provides a hands-on introduction to contemporary methods for measuring human circadian physiology, including salivary melatonin and dim light melatonin onset, rest-activity cycles, and personal light exposure. Participants will collect and analyse data using open-source tools including LightLogR and dlmoR.
The course is intended for MSc and PhD students working in chronobiology, sleep research, or adjacent fields. Participation is free of charge, but places are limited and admission is selective.
This course is supported by the European Biological Rhythms Society (EBRS). Three EBRS travel grants of EUR 500 each are available. Applicants who wish to be considered for a travel grant should indicate this in their letter of motivation and explain their financial need.
