Flicker and the Brain – a project using MR-camera

Presenter

Johannes Lindén, LCN, Lund University

A sensitivity to flicker from light sources is known to cause adverse health effects and has been identified as a problem with the introduction of LED-based lighting technology.

This project aims to inform future standards and light source design by using a bespoke LED light source and a functional-MRI scanner to study the brain activity of migraine-sufferers exposed to non-visual flicker.
